Mission & Organizational structure

NGO “Geopolitical Alliance of Women” is a voluntary unit of individuals, created to strengthen the role of women leaders at all levels of society’s development, to satisfy public, in particular, economic, social, cultural, educational and other interests of its members and/or other persons; as well as promoting the development of modern, effective and sustainable global communication, which expands business partnerships, creates an international women’s socio-economic cluster and contributes to the support of peace processes and cultural initiatives.

The main goal is to create an international dialogue platform, a sustainable business partnership for a new era of female leadership.

 

The governing body

The highest governing body of the Organization is the General Assembly, which currently consists of all 60 women leaders – members of the organization.

The governing body is the Presidium of the Organization (100% women), consisting of three persons  Svitlana Salamatova, (President); Natalia Kaplun (First Vice – President); Valentyna Vasylevska (Treasurer).

The supervisory body is the Supervisory Board, which is a representative body with the function of promoting the organization in the world, headed by HER MAJESTY Princess Angelika Yaroslawska Eva Sapieha.

Project activities are carried out within the framework of the work of existing departments:

Department for provision of social services in the field of public health

(Head Olena Pugach)

Activity:

  • August 2021 – May 2022 A grant project on the prevention of drug addiction was implemented together with the European Monitoring Center for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA). As part of the project, the National Consortium for the Prevention of Drug Use was created, the first manual on the prevention of drug use was adapted and issued;
  • September – October 2021. Project of humanitarian aid to the Boyar Central District Hospital together with the Polish Peace Corps (humanitarian cargo (18 tons) delivered on October 25, 2021);
  • 2022. A joint project with a musical group from Great Britain to provide assistance to Ukrainian children left without parents and cared for by the Children’s Villages NGO;
  • 2023 Funds were received from Japanese partners ICA Japan for the purchase of 6 generators for educational institutions of the Boyarska OTG of the Kyiv region, the city of Kryukivshchyna of the Kyiv region, and the city of Kolomyia. 8 generators were purchased and transferred to schools and preschools to ensure an uninterrupted supply of electricity during Russian attacks on critical infrastructure in Ukraine;
  • 2023. Together with the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine, the Bucharest City Hall provided resource assistance for the delivery of a humanitarian cargo of 100 generators to Ukraine. The generators were delivered to the Chernivtsi region and evenly distributed across the regions of Ukraine.

Department of Legal Protection

The members of the department are active lawyers and public figures, members of the Public Council under the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine.

                 

Activity:

  • November 2019 – June 2021 Within the framework of cooperation with the Public Council under the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine and the NGO “International Anti-Corruption Assembly”, the weekly TV program “Civic Government” was launched on the volunteer channel i-ua.tv https://i-ua.tv/programs/hromadianska-vlada-zi -svitlanoiu-salamatovoiu;
  • 2020 A public analysis of the illegal construction at 12 Provulok Lomonosova, Kyiv city was made, and legal and volunteer assistance in communication with representatives of the National Police and the Security Intelligence Service was provided to the initiative group of residents;
  • 2021 An expert assessment was given to the anti-corruption program of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine;
  • 2021 The question of the illegality of the decision to raise tariffs was publicly analyzed with the participation of the leaders of all regional initiative groups of Ukraine;
  • 2021 A legal audit was conducted of the decision of the Kyiv State City Administration regarding the reordering (centralization) of district territorial centers for the provision of social services of the Department of Social Policy of the KMDA. For the first time, a wide range of stakeholders was involved in the discussion of the model of providing social services to Kyiv residents;
  • 2021 – 2022 The rights of member organizations have been protected in relation to the many-year attempts of an influential man’s rapist to take away a joint child and deprive her of her maternal rights. Justice is served. The child lives with the mother in psychological safety.
  • The analysis of practical cases of women is carried out, the current mechanism for realizing women’s rights is studied, and amendments and proposals for changes to the current legislation of Ukraine and the EU, as well as to the mechanisms of its implementation, are provided;
  • 2022 An initiative to protect the rights of IDPs has been launched and is being implemented, and a unique legal mechanism for compensation for material losses resulting from the Russian military aggression against Ukraine has been developed. The mechanism is implemented by the NGO “Legal Forces of Ukraine” with the support of the Department;
  • 2023 A legal international legal mechanism to prevent a UN member country from carrying out military aggression was developed and sent to the UN. It should become economically unprofitable to conduct military operations;
  • 2024 A letter was sent to all state structures in Ireland, including the Prime Minister, with a request to grant permission for a group of Ukrainian children to leave Ireland for an international competition in Spain. Rejection received. Regarding the violation of the child’s rights to receive quality education through the development of practical skills, letters were sent to the Office of the Ombudsman of Ukraine, the Office of the Commissioner of the VRU for Human Rights, and the Office of the Ombudsman of Ireland. Justice has not been established.

Department of Economic Development and Women’s Entrepreneurship

Activity:

  • On March 26, 2022, in order to promote the economic stability of Ukrainian women who are temporarily in Romania due to the military aggression of the Russian Federation and Ukraine, with the assistance of the mayor of the city of Bucharest, Sector 1, Clotilda Armand, the “Women’s Hub in the City of Bucharest” was opened;
  • March 2022. 22 jobs created for Ukrainian and Romanian women in the city of Bucharest, Romania.
  • January 2024 purchased tablets for the children of the dead soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who defended the country during the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation.

Department for the Development of Education, Training and Sustainable Development

  • 2021. Cooperation with the Teacher’s House, Kyiv was established (the Roadmap of activities 2021 – 2022 was developed);
  • March 2022. Together with the NGO Plan B, Romania, the first educational space for 30 Ukrainian children temporarily staying in Romania due to the war between the Russian Federation and Ukraine was opened in the premises of the musical comedy theater in Bucharest;
  • April 18, 2022. The Bucharest UA School Hub educational hub for 200 schoolchildren was opened in the “Uruguay” gymnasium in Bucharest.   • February 2023 Training for Ukrainian teachers in Romania “FOCUSED CONVERSATION. Base. Online. ToP facilitation tools for the effective work of the Ukrainian school”
  • February 2023. Two Forums of Ukrainian teachers were implemented in Romania and a model was developed for the integration of Ukrainian children who are temporarily in Romania due to the Russian Federation’s war in Ukraine into the Romanian education system;
  • April 2023. A practical model of the integration of Ukrainian children into the education system of Romania was presented at a conference in Malta. The humanitarian mission of helping Ukrainian children to ensure a smooth educational process was implemented.

Department of International Cooperation

  • 2018 – 2022 “Forum “Great open dialogue. Monaco 2022” jointly with SKS Monaco; Due to the war, the work was stopped;
  • 2019 project “Program for the Development of Women’s Leadership and Democratic Governance” (jointly with the Embassy of Ukraine in the USA), Washington, USA. As part of the program, the first forum for Ukrainian women leaders in the US Congress was implemented;
  • 2019. In support of the judicial reform in Ukraine, a program for improving the qualifications of Ukrainian lawyers was implemented in Washington, USA
  • October 2021. Ex-First Lady of Ukraine Kateryna Yushchenko sent a letter to the UN, Geneva regarding Ukrainian women’s support for Afghan women; The Afghan woman is loudly silent
  • February 27, 2022. A video of Ukrainian children from the Buchi and Irpen bomb shelters was sent to the US Congress with a request to close the Ukrainian sky;
  • March 12, 2022. A meeting was held with Clotilde Armand, Mayor of Bucharest, Sector 1, Romania. The result was the acquisition of a building in the center of the city of Bucharest to work with Ukrainian women who temporarily left Ukraine due to the large-scale military invasion of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine. Premises were obtained for opening a school for 200 Ukrainian children; The Association of Ukrainian Teachers in Romania and a broad support coalition were created;
  • 2023. Due to the active steps of our organization, the Embassy of Ukraine in Romania signed an intergovernmental agreement on the mutual recognition of diplomas of higher education in Ukraine and Romania;
  • 2023 An agreement on partnership interaction was signed between the city of Bucharest, Sector 1, Romania and the city of Chernivtsi, Ukraine;
  • March 2023. A meeting was held with the Senator of the State of New York in order to develop inter-municipal humanitarian cooperation between the cities of the State of New York and Ukraine;
  • April 2023. A humanitarian mission was carried out to Malta to help Ukrainian children who lost their parents during the Russian Federation’s war in Ukraine;

  • November 2023. A meeting was held with the Ambassador of Ukraine to Japan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and the Parliament of Japan;

  • March 2024. A meeting was held at UNICEF in New York to provide resource assistance to Ukrainian children in Romania;

  • September 2024. A meeting of a delegation of Ukrainian mayors and businesses (77 delegates) was organized and held with the Head of UNDP in New York;
  • September 2024. An agreement was reached; Work is ongoing on signing a partnership agreement for cooperation with the city of New York and the Consortium of Frontline Cities of Ukraine, which is currently being created together with the Club of Mayors for the purpose of implementing socio-economic and humanitarian projects in Ukraine and the development of sustainable democracy. The creation of the Consortium is planned for November. – December 2024. The signing of the contract and the opening of the project office in New York City and one of the cities in Ukraine is planned for March 2025.

Department for the effectiveness of state and local government models

Activity (started in 2004 as part of V. Salamatov’s research under the Fulbright program at the University of Georgia, USA, on the comparative effectiveness of the public administration model of Ukraine, the USA and the Russian Federation)

  • 2011 – 2015. Under the ICA Ukraine brand in cooperation with ICA USA, tools of participative management and management (Technology of Participation) were implemented in Ukrainian society. More than 2,000 facilitators have been recruited in Ukraine. A new trend has been launched in Ukraine – “facilitator”. A system of professional growth and supervision has been created. A new profession “facilitator” appeared with a high rating of payment for work. Thousands of organizations in Ukraine have changed their approach to organizational development. From authoritarian to democratic. In Ukraine, the format of holding forums, conferences, and seminars has been changed from the “panel discussion” format to an interactive dialogue. For the first time in the history of Ukraine, the government, business and the public worked for two days at the Peace Summit, which was held under the supervision of the UN Special Monitoring Mission www.peacesummit.org.ua https://www.facebook.com/PeaceSummit in Kyiv, the purpose of which was to union for the purpose of decentralization. Dozens of new public associations promoting participatory management tools have been given new life. In Ukraine, a new stable trend of “joint strategic planning” has been launched in the triangle of government – business – community. The word “consensus” has become a common and understandable word in Ukrainian society;
  • 2015 – 2017. The tools of strategic participatory management were implemented through various channels in the local self-government bodies of Ukraine. A practical manual for involving the public in management within the framework of the current ULEAD program has been written;
  • 2018. The establishment of the Institute of the First Lady of Ukraine was initiated. A message was sent to the wife of the President of Ukraine;
  • 2021. An initiative working group was created in the KMDA regarding the illegal decision (with the participation of the new members of the city council) to redirect 42 million hryvnias from the District State Administrations in the city of Kyiv, which are the founders of the Territorial Centers for the provision of social services, to the Social Policy Department of the KMDA;
  • 2021. In order to gain efficiency, changes were initiated and implemented in the governing bodies of the Public Council under the Ministry of Justice. Leadership changed to female leadership;
  • 2022. A written proposal was sent to the Office of the President of Ukraine with a request to the First Lady of Ukraine to take the lead in expressing gratitude to the people of Europe for helping Ukrainians;
  • 2024. Robertson Work’s practical guide to participatory management “Sympathetic Civilization” was published. It is planned to give the manual free of charge to all deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine;
  • 2023. A four-day training was held for 25 representatives of the Kyiv city state administration “Effective participatory city management: ToR facilitation tools for local government”. As a result of the training, a strategic five-year plan was developed for the involvement of citizens in the management of the city of Kyiv;
  • 2024 The First Forum of Ukrainians in New York was organized and held with the assistance of the New York City Hall. The target audience is Ukrainians who have temporary protection in the USA.

  • 2019. The book “I am the Sun” by Natalia Kaplun, First Vice-President of the organization, was accepted into the Library of Congress of the USA;

  • On October 22, 2021, with the support of the Ethno-project “SKRYNYA” and the temporary collection of authentic clothes of Mila Vyshivanka, staging and holding a show of Ukrainian outfits Gen – code: Bereginya Ген – код: Берегиня opened “Junior Fashion Week ’21” Organizer – Svitlana Salamatova, director of the show – Olga Ipatova , costumes – Myla Vysyvanka;
  • February 2021-2024, holding a large photo project “Maslyana” using authentic clothes of the regions of Ukraine and felted clothes of handmade masters. The organizer and producer of the project is Olga Ipatova.
  • A large number of project photos are involved in the “Victory Handkerchief” project;
  • In December 2022, the organization and holding of the gala concert “Kherson is Ukraine” in honor of the liberation of the city of Kherson, the funds collected for tickets and donations from the audience were transferred to the fund to help children of Kherson and the region.   • On October 1-2, 2022, the organization and holding of the folk fair “Pokrovsky” with the participation of handmade masters, craft producers, volunteers, children’s groups, singing groups, a display of authentic clothes.   • In May 2022, the show of authentic Ukrainian clothing “Gen Code: Bereginya” was supposed to open Fashion Week in Monaco. The war stopped the implementation of the project.
  • On December 1-2, 2023, the organization and holding of the theatrical fair “Matchmaking on Zhytnyi”, the event was attended by craft producers from the regions of Ukraine, handmade masterpieces, singing groups of various regions, children’s groups and the Jewish Theater in Podil. Department for Youth Leadership Development (new)

The concept and strategic plan for the new department are currently being developed.

  • April 25, 2024.   • January 2025. The “Day of Dialogue: The Way to Peace” project is being expanded to Middlesex College in New Jersey, with plans to engage 100+ students in an interactive dialogue on peace, leadership, and global issues creating a working plan for promoting local and global peace. 
  • October 2025. A delegation of young leaders was formed to participate in the Ukrainian-Japanese Youth Leadership Symposium in Tokyo, Japan, which will be held at the Parliament of Japan.
